- WinOLS scripts as .winolsskript, managed in the Auto-Tuning admin module.
- What if no script matches?
- The request can fall back to manual handling — the client stays in the same folder.
- Can I retire an outdated script?
- Yes. The admin lifecycle lets you archive or deactivate scripts.
- Which metadata should I add to a WinOLS script?
- Link each script to the most precise ECU context available: manufacturer, controller type, hardware and software references, plus the service it covers. A script is a replayable sequence of changes, not a universal guarantee. Good metadata reduces unsuitable suggestions.
- Why might a script not apply to a seemingly similar vehicle?
- Two visually similar vehicles can use different controllers or software versions. Map addresses and structures may then differ. Matching should prioritise file compatibility; when it is uncertain, routing the request to manual handling is safer than forcing a script.
- How do I keep a script library reliable?
- Name scripts clearly, document their ECU context and service, and retire entries that no longer fit your workflow. Test new entries against authorised reference files and review matching feedback to spot scripts that are too broad or have become outdated.
